UPDATED SUNDAY, SEPT 14, 6:18 PM: On the evening of Saturday, September 13, Wood County Schools received information regarding a potential threat directed at Parkersburg High School (PHS) for Monday, September 15. In response, the Wood County Sheriff’s Department acted swiftly and placed the two students alleged to be involved into custody on Sunday, September 14. The Wood County Prosecutor’s Office also responded decisively to the situation.
Wood County Schools extends its sincere appreciation to both the Wood County Sheriff’s Department and the Prosecutor’s Office for their prompt and diligent response. Their efforts have helped ensure the safety of our students as they return to school.
