🚨 7TH GRADE KICKBALL SHIRTS 🚨 We are asking that all kickball shirt money please be turned in TOMORROW if at all possible. Shirts are $10. While money can still be turned in later this week, we are trying to collect the majority of payments tomorrow so we can move forward with ordering shirts and avoid being left with a large unpaid balance. As of Friday, we had received a little less than half of the money needed. All students who are attending school and participating on June 1st will need a shirt and will be included in the order. The ONLY students who will not receive a shirt are students who will NOT be at school that day. If you KNOW your child will not be at school on June 1st, please send a note or contact us tomorrow so we do not order them a shirt. If you are unable to send the full $10 tomorrow, ANY amount sent in would be greatly appreciated and helpful. We have also had several families generously donate more than the $10 cost to help support students, and we truly appreciate that kindness. If anyone would like to contribute extra, it is always welcomed. Thank you for helping us make this a fun event for our 7th graders! 🖤💛

Parents of HMS 6th graders: A reminder note will be sent home on Friday, May 1st with any 6th grader who does NOT have a record on file for the required 7th grade TDap and MCV4 immunizations. The TDap and MCV4 shots are required to be completed before the first day of 7th grade. Please get those completed at your earliest convenience and/or return a shot record to the HMS school nurse. Reusable Water Bottle Reminder
As the weather warms up, students will have more opportunities to be outside for recess. Please remember to send a reusable water bottle with your child each day so they can stay hydrated throughout the school day. Water bottle filling stations are available for both students and staff to refill as needed. Thank you for your help in keeping our students healthy and hydrated!

8th Graders are currently fundraising for end of the year activities. They will be holding a Bingo April 25th, paper forms will be sent home this week/Monday. GSA Testing

Due to snowy and icy conditions impacting a significant portion of the southern part of Wood County, Wood County Schools will now be closed today, Tuesday, March 17, 2026. While some areas of the county may not be experiencing the same conditions, roadways in other areas remain hazardous. Because our buses and families travel across many different communities and road conditions, this decision was made to prioritize the safety of all students and staff throughout the entire county. We appreciate your understanding as we work to ensure everyone can travel safely.

Due to various road conditions throughout the county, Wood County Schools will be on a 2-hour delay on Tuesday, March 17, 2026.

Important Update Regarding the End of the School Year: We are pleased to share that the West Virginia Department of Education has granted Wood County Schools a waiver for three instructional days. As a result of this approval, the last day of school for students will remain Tuesday, June 2, 2026 — no changes have been made to the previously published school calendar. No further action is needed on your part. Please make note of this date as you plan for summer childcare, activities, and travel. Hamilton Track and Field begins Monday, March 2nd 3:30-5:30. This is a non-tryout sport. All students who are interested are welcome to join! Students must have a physical on file to participate. Please bring practice clothes for all weather conditions and come prepared to run!
