Jackson students will be receiving their bus ID's tomorrow during Homeroom. They will need the ID's to scan on and off the bus. We are encouraging students to take a picture of the ID just in case they misplace the card. Students can use the picture to scan on and off of the bus. Please contact the school with questions.
Good afternoon, after listening to concerns from students and parents, we have decided to allow students to use all types of water bottles. Wood County is currently developing a water bottle policy that will be implemented in the near future. Jackson Middle School will follow the County policy once it is in place.

This is Mr. Echard principal of Jackson Middle School. In an assembly last week, we set new expectations for our students.
1. No Gum
2. Clear Water Bottles
3. No open toe shoes or sandals
4. No writing on themselves or others
I understand that some of these rules are inconvenient and may have caught you off guard and I apologize for the lack of communication home. I have asked teachers and staff to be lenient on these new rules until next Tuesday.
Students are allowed to have different types of water bottles at lunch but cannot have them in the classroom. If they have something other than a clear water bottle it must be kept in their locker until lunch and then returned to their locker after lunch.
Students will need footwear that covers their toes and secures to the back of their heels. All students will have a gym class at some point in the year, and they have intramurals every day. They cannot participate in these activities without the proper footwear. Secure footwear is also needed in the event of an emergency situation.
Once again, I apologize for the inconvenience and lack of communication. I will do a better job communicating changes moving forward.

Hello Jackson parents students and staff. This is Mr. Echard your new principal at Jackson Middle School. I just wanted to let you know that I am very excited to be a part of the Jackson Community, a community that I have called home for the last 23 years. Good evening, Jackson parents, students and staff. Tomorrow, Tuesday, August 12th we will have our Tour de Jackson for incoming 6th graders from 9-11am. Sixth grade students will have an opportunity to meet some of their teachers, tour the school, practice opening their lockers, learn about iPad etiquette, Acceptable Use Policy as well at get their schedules. Upon arrival, students will find their name on one sixth grade homeroom lists and then sit at the table in the cafeteria marked with their homeroom teacher's name. Good afternoon incoming Jackson students and parents! Jackson Middle School will have a brief transitional opportunity for all incoming 6th graders on August 12 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Jackson Middle. This is for students only and it is a completely voluntary option. Students will get the opportunity to take a tour of the building, meet teachers, work on lockers, and hear about use of iPads at Jackson! Have a great evening!
Jackson Tennis begins July 28 at the Jackson Park tennis courts. Players be there at 4pm with racquet and physical. Parent meeting to follow at 5pm!

Heavy rain and flooding are affecting student transportation. Our team is working on rerouting where possible. Expect delays for bus riders in flood-prone areas. Safety is Wood County Schools' first priority.
Wood County Schools Special Education Office will be destroying special education records of all former special education students with a graduation date prior to and including 2019. Files prior to 2018 have already been shredded. Good evening, Jackson parents, students, and staff. This is Mr. Kisner with an important announcement about turning in student devices. We will be collecting student devices on Friday, May 30. Students need to bring their iPad, charging block, and cable to turn in this day. We will keep these items in lockers and use them for class on Friday, and then all students will turn items in at the end of the day.
