Lubeck Families, we need your help!
Those who pick up K-2 children on the Lubeck Road side may begin lining up at 2:40. Lubeck Road is not wide enough for our long line of buses to safely navigate when there are also cars parked along the road. Waiting until 2:40 allows for buses to arrive at the school and get ready for dismissal. Children being picked up will not be dismissed in the car pick-up line until buses depart. Please share this with anyone who picks up K-2 students at the end of the day. Thank you for helping with this process!

Lubeck Families,
Due to covid, our water fountains remain closed. However, water filling stations are available throughout the building. Please have your child bring a water bottle to school each day. Have a great evening!

If you are buying into the Wood County Schools Optional Damage Waiver for iPads, please send the application and payment to the Information Desk at the Board of Education or mail to WCS, MIS 1600 Beverly Street Parkersburg, WV 26101. These wavers are found on the last page of each child's orange Acceptable Use Policy and must be submitted within the first 14 days of attendance. This does not apply to preschool students. Thank you!

Good evening. Tomorrow brings much anticipation with the start of a new school year. I am so excited to see our students and employees back in our buildings as we work together to become the # 1 school district in the state of West Virginia. We are so fortunate to have a wonderful community of parents and guardians that understand the importance of a first-class education and are willing to go above and beyond to ensure the success of our students and schools. However, we know there is a lot of work to complete.
This summer, WCS has equipped schools with essential personnel for targeted intervention, created a STEAM Academy for middle school students, and continued to upgrade our facilities to provide the most conducive environments possible in our schools. We are very excited to see the new school year begin.
I encourage each of you to review our re-entry guidance document located on our webpage at https://tinyurl.com/yhq2qwgb. As you know, directives can change quickly with little notice. I will do my best to communicate changes to you as directives are received. I encourage all parents and students to follow the recommendations in the guidance document including, but not limited to - wearing a mask, staying socially distanced, and practicing good, hand-washing hygiene.
As always, I ask for your patience on the first day of school. There are many moving parts that we will continually perfect throughout the year. Once again, thank you for your support and encouragement as we start another exciting school year.
Thank you for all you do and have a wonderful evening.

Good evening Lubeck Families,
This is Mrs. Hardman, Principal at Lubeck Elementary. On behalf of the Lubeck Staff, I would like to welcome you the 2021-22 school year. It was wonderful to see so many familiar and new faces at our Open House last night and I hope that visiting campus helped to calm any nerves about returning to school.
The Lubeck Learning Expedition officially kicks off tomorrow, August 19. Each member of the Lubeck Team is excited and optimistic. Last year we, along with all communities, experienced our share of challenges, but through it all, we grew closer and stronger.
As we open our doors, take comfort in knowing that Lubeck Elementary is driven by our mission to Educate, Empower, and Excel. We establish, maintain, and support high expectations for not only our students, but also ourselves. Through engaging experiences, our students will develop the knowledge, skills and values necessary to become proactive and lifelong learners.
Thank you for trusting us with your children and thank you for being partners in their education. Have a wonderful evening.

It’s almost time for OPEN HOUSE! When you arrive at Lubeck, please enter through the gym. We have photo stations set up and PTA is available if you would like to become member. See you between 4:45 and 6:45!

Open House is tomorrow (August 17) from 4:45-6:45. Hope to see you there!

Letters with homeroom information will be mailed over the next couple days. ✉️📪 We have had quite a few new enrollments and we want to make sure those students are included in rosters. If your student has not received their letter by Tuesday, August 10, please contact the school at 304-863-3321 and we will be happy to help.
It’s almost time to start a great, new year together at Lubeck! Get excited! 🐾💙#LubeckPAWS

🚨Reminder🚨
Stuff the Fire Truck today at Lubeck Fire Department- they will be accepting supplies from noon-4 🚒

As the start of school approaches, many are starting to think about school supplies.
We provide students with all materials required for learning. The exceptions are personal items like tennis shoes, backpacks and lunch boxes.
If you would like to donate, crayola crayons (they last the longest), pencils, soft tissues or paper towels, those are always welcome. We know that supply shopping can be a fun tradition, so some teachers may have an optional donation list available at open house or during the first days of school. Please, do not send trapper keepers or large binders with students as there is no space to store them.
This year the Lubeck Fire Dept is also hosting a “Stuff the Fire Truck” on August 1 from noon-4:00. These supplies will go directly to Lubeck School. After August 1, teachers will be able to better gauge what items to include on those optional lists.
Our community is extremely generous and we appreciate all that you do to support our Lubeck students! #LubeckPAWS

Good evening. We invite you to contribute to our ARP/ESSER plan by providing input to the ideas generated in spending funds provided by the American Rescue Plan Elementary and Secondary Schools Emergency Relief (ARP ESSER), targeting K-12 education. Your input will guide our plan to meet the needs of our students, staff, and community which will be presented to the West Virginia Dept. of Education on July 19. Your input is vitally important. To provide input, please click the following link or visit our website. Thank you. https://tinyurl.com/yfs5cvgh

We are aware that the school zone lights are still active in the front and back of the building. Unfortunately, we are unable to deactivate those directly from the school level.
There are a variety of methods in which these are operated (directly, remotely, city, county, some WCS) and our district administrators are working to solve this issue as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience.

The Lubeck Elementary School office will be closed on Monday, June 14 and Tuesday, June 15. Thank you!

The Lubeck Elementary playground will be closed for the remainder of Tuesday, June 8, for maintenance. Thank you for your understanding!

With the 2020-21 school year wrapping up, I would just like to say “Thank You!”
Thank you to everyone: Students, parents, teachers, staff and community members. Thank you to everyone who has helped others get through this often challenging and frustrating year, and thank you to everyone for your patience and resilience.
Even as we head into summer break, Wood County Schools is hard at work finalizing preparations for our summer programs which are set to begin later this month. These eight programs are unlike anything we have offered before and are sure to be engaging and fun for students at all grade levels. More than 1,500 students are enrolled and more than 200 teachers and staff have been hired to help make these programs a success. Wood County Schools’ summer offerings have been called a model for the state, and we intend to show everyone why we deserve to be called the best school system in West Virginia.
I want everyone to have a wonderful summer and a well-earned break. Most importantly, though, I want everyone ready for this fall. Throughout all of our challenges, we have learned and we have grown, and it is time for us to put that hard-earned knowledge to work for our students. We want to provide all of our kids with the best possible opportunities in first-class facilities staffed by top-level teachers and caring adults.
So as we say goodbye to the 2020-21 school year, let us look forward to the wonderful things we can accomplish together in the months and years ahead.
Thank you everyone, and have a great summer!

LUBECK YEARBOOKS have arrived and they look great!
If you already purchased a yearbook, they went home yesterday or will go home today. If you would like to buy a yearbook, you may send $20 to school with your child to purchase one. We can only accept cash payments for yearbooks at this time. Extras are available on a first come, first serve basis.
Students may bring their yearbooks back to school on Friday, June 4. Please make sure that their name is written on the inside cover. On that day, teachers will give time for students to get their yearbooks signed by their classmates.

So that our Lubeck students may enjoy a picnic lunch on Friday, June 4th, there have been some changes to the lunch menu. June 4 and 7 were noted as "cook's choice" on the menu.
May 27- BBQ pulled pork, salad with dressing, cheesy potatoes or corn, rosy applesauce cup, & choice of white or chocolate milk
June 4- cold turkey & cheese sandwich w/choice of mayo or mustard, sun chips or cool ranch doritos, baked beans, applesauce, & choice of white or chocolate milk
June 7- Pizza, calzone, or peperoni roll, corn & peas mix or broccoli, peaches, fries or tater tots, & choice of white or chocolate milk

Lubeck Families, Please assist your child in remembering to bring their mask to school each day. As we get closer to the end of the year, more and more kiddos are needing a disposable mask in the morning. We are happy to supply masks for those who need them, but if your student has some at home, please encourage them to bring them to school. Thank you for your help with this!
