Due to inclement weather conditions, including snow and ice on roadways, particularly on less-traveled back roads, and ongoing safety concerns with parking lots, Wood County Schools will be closed on Monday, January 26.
This decision was made with the safety of our students, families, and staff as our highest priority. Difficult travel conditions and icy surfaces create unsafe conditions for buses, drivers, and pedestrians, and we believe closure is the most responsible course of action.
We appreciate your understanding and encourage families to continue monitoring district communications for any additional updates.

Good evening, Martin Rams, this is Assistant Principal, Caitlin Freeland with a quick evening update.
Classroom Christmas parties and related activities are quickly approaching. I wanted to remind all parents and guardians that if you are planning on attending these events, you need to have a background check on file. Unfortunately, you will not be allowed to attend without one. They are roughly 17 dollars each. The website for the background check can be located on the Wood County Schools Website, click the HR tab then find Volunteering & Chaperoning – Back ground check on the left hand side. Please complete this as soon as possible if you plan on attending you student’s event.
On December 8th, it was scheduled to have a PTA Sweet Frog fundraiser. Due to scheduling conflicts with Hot Coco with Santa, at the school at 6pm, we have canceled the PTA fundraiser at Sweet Frog. When this is rescheduled, we will pass that information along to you.
When the winter weather makes it unsafe for the students and staff to commute to the school, the county board office will call a snow day. When the board office calls a snow day, they will label it code A, B, C or NTID. Students will only complete work from the NTID snow packets that were sent home when the board office calls for a NTID snow day. The code should be included in the phone call or text message that the county office sends out. If you are unsure what code was called, please refer to the Wood County Schools website under the live feed section or the local TV and radio stations.
For example: yesterday, Tuesday, December 2nd, the board office called a code A snow day. This means that students were not required to complete their work from the NTID snow packets. Their only requirement was to enjoy the snow.
That’s all the news from this evening, I will see you in the morning.
And remember… Martin Rams Are Always Climbing.
