Williamstown Middle/High

The WMHS Homecoming Parade route is included in the attached photo. The first part of the parade will depart from the high school between 1:30 and 1:40 and will be complete beginning at Tomlinson Park. From the park, the parade will continue down Highland Avenue, they will make a right onto 8th street, and then a right onto Henderson Avenue. From that point, the parade will make a right onto Elizabeth Street and another right onto Victoria Avenue. Finally, the parade will make a left onto 5th street and finish their route at the public library.

If you live on Elizabeth Street or Victoria Avenue and can avoid parking on the street, it would be helpful for our band and our float drivers.

If at all possible, please avoid driving in the park from 12:30-1:30 during parade line up. All of the elementary and middle school aged students line up in the park during this time and it creates safety concerns when people drive through unnecessarily. If folks wanting to access the park during that time would park in the spaces near the Women's Club shelter, it would make for a much safer environment.

If you are driving in the parade, please arrive to your spot as close to your designate time as possible.

We really appreciate all of the community support for this event. Hopefully seeing all of the smiling students makes up for the small inconveniences.

Parents and students: Just want to remind parents and students that toys and other non-school related items need to be kept at home. While some items may be appropriate for home use, they are not appropriate for school. We had a student this week sustain a potentially permanent eye injury from a laser pointer. There should be absolutely NO laser pointers on school property at any time. Students possessing laser pointers will be suspended. I encourage you to speak to your children about the potential dangers surrounding these items.

Did you know that Integrated Health Centers of West Virginia provides school-based telehealth care at our school if your child needs medical care during the school day? Your school nurse can coordinate an appointment and your child will be evaluated by a medical provider. If you child is too sick to stay at school, the school nurse will follow standard procedures and send them home. We are so happy to offer this service for busy parents through our partnership with IHCWV. For more information, contact your school nurse.

Parents of off campus CTE students: Attached is our bus schedule for the CTE programs, at all three off campus locations. These schedules are also in the cafeteria and on bulletin boards throughout the building. If busses are departing before the times listed, please reach out to Mrs. Bryant.

Additional Notes: Students in Social Services at PHS should take their backpacks to second period and leave class at 9:25 to catch their bus. All students leaving at 11:40 should go to the front of the lunch line so they will be served lunch first. Morning plumbing and social services students will eat lunch during middle school lunch/high school advisory. Students may choose to eat in the cafeteria or in their advisory class.
