To help keep morning traffic moving safely and efficiently, please follow these drop-off procedures:
Horseshoe Drop-Off – Preferred for Grades 2–5: When entering the horseshoe, please use the outside/left lane for cars. The inside/right lane is reserved for buses only.
We will unload 3–4 vehicles at a time along the horseshoe. Please do not wait until you reach the front door before allowing your child to exit.
Have students ready to unload as soon as you enter the designated unloading area—backpacks ready and goodbyes completed. Staff will be outside to assist students and direct them safely into the building.
PreK, Kindergarten & Grade 1 – Door 3 on Plum Street: Families may pull into the bus lane at Door 3 or park across the street and safely walk their child across. A staff member will greet your child and escort them inside to their designated location.
Our goal is a safe, efficient drop-off—not a front-door drop-off. Thank you for helping us keep traffic moving!
Dismissal
Half day PreK at 11:05 AM / Full day Prek at 2:00 PM
Grades K-1 dismiss at 2:50 PM/ Grades 2-5 dismiss at 2:55 PM/ Buses roll out by 3:05PM
Please note, autos are NOT permitted in the horseshoe during dismissal due to bussing. Please park responsibly and walk over to the proper entrance. Students will only be dismissed to approved adult per dismissal forms. All others must go to the office and provide proper photo ID.
Aside from service animals, NO pets are permitted on premises.

PreK: First day Aug. 24. Staggered opening days- refer to your letter. Doors open at 7:45 a.m (door 3 - not main horseshoe)
K-5: First day Aug. 19. Staggered entry for Kindergarten - refer to letter mailed to you. K-1 drop off at door 3- NOT main horseshoe; Grades 2-5 drop off at main horseshoe to enter in door 1 at main entrance.

Grade 2: 2:55 p.m. exits door 34 (front horseshoe)
Grade 3: 2:55 p.m. exits door 33 (front horseshoe)
Grades 4-5: 2:55 p.m. exits door 1 (main entrance at horseshoe)
Changes to how a student goes home needs relayed to school in writing. Otherwise, please contact school no later than 2PM. Buses roll out shortly after 3PM.

215 – Driver Ryan Badgett. Jefferson Elementary students who live on or near Volcano Rd.,
Riser Ridge, and Wright Rd. and Progress Ridge Rd. will ride this bus. This bus stats at 6:30 a.m.
at the second intersection on Volcano Rd., then travels to Rise Ridge Rd. at 6:45 a.m. Then the
bus travels to Progress Ridge starting at 7:00a.m. Then to Dewey Ridge at 7:08 a.m. The bus
turns around and meets at 7:25 at Man of War Rd. to transfer the elementary students to bus 249.
These students will ride bus 215 home in the evening.
249 – Driver Chris Dellinger. Jefferson Elementary students who live on Meadville Rd., Varner
Hill Rd., Stillwell Rd., Little Stillwell Rd., and Murphytown Rd. ride this bus. The first stop is at the
turnaround at Southridge Rd at 6:45 a.m. The bus stops at Varner Rd and Route 50 at 6:56 a.m.
and bus continues onto Stillwell Rd. making a stop just past the Y. Additional stops are made on
Little Stillwell Rd. where the bus turns right onto Murphytown Rd., and continuing making stops
beginning at 7:15 a.m. The bus crosses Rt. 50, traveling to Montgomery Hill to receive transfer
students from buses 200 & 233. Bus 249 arrives at Jefferson Elementary at 7:45 a.m. In the
afternoon, the students that rode bus 174 in the morning from Eastlawn area, along with students
from Meadville Rd., Varner Rd., Stillwell Rd., Little Stillwell Rd., and Murphytown Rd. will ride this
bus home.
252 – Driver Christina Deaton. Jefferson Elementary School students who live in the downtown
district of Parkersburg will ride this bus. The first stop is Green St. (Kimes Funeral Home) at 7:35
a.m., 10th and Ann at 7:40 a.m., 9th and Avery at 7:42 a.m. and 12th and Avery at 7:44 a.m. The
bus arrives at Jefferson Elementary at 7:47 am. Students who ride this bus in the morning will
ride this bus home in the afternoon.
253 Ave. and McKinley School will ride this bus. The bus will make stops on Washington Ave. and
Latrobe St. at 7:30 a.m., Elm St. at 7:32 a.m., Liberty St. at 7:34 a.m., and 19th & Oak. The bus will
make one final stop at the McKinley playground at 7:40 a.m. before arriving at Jefferson at 7:38
a.m. In the afternoon, these students will ride the same bus home.
269 – Driver Carrie Carpenter. Jefferson Elementary students on or near Lynn & Spring St. as
well as students bussed to the Boys & Girls Club after school program will ride this bus. This bus
will start at the intersection of Lynn and Wood St. at 7:10 a.m. and continues making stops at
Charles, Teft and 14th St. before traveling to Spring St. Stops continue on Spring St. to 18th and
16th St. starting at 7:20. The bus will arrive at Jefferson School at 7:30 a.m. These students, along
with children going to the Boys and Girls club, will ride bus 269 in the afternoon.

JEFFERSON ELEMENTARY CENTER Part 1 of 2
24A -- Driver Dakota Guinn. Jefferson students who live on Isaacs Fork, Middle Ridge, and
Route 31 back to Deerwalk will ride this bus. The bus will start at the turn around on Middle Ridge
Rd. at 6:48 a.m. and continues with stops on Rt. 31. The bus travels to the turn around on Bull
Creek Rd. making stops before turning onto Isaacs Fork Rd. After turning left onto Route 31, the
bus makes several stops before proceeding to Montgomery Hill and receiving transfer students
from bus 215 at 7:25 a.m. Bus 24A proceeds to 7th St. making a loop around Eastlawn and
Mathoit back to 7th St. then making stops on 16th St. at Race and Briant St., arriving at Jefferson
Elementary at 7:44 a.m. In the afternoon, students from the 7th St. area will ride bus 215 home.
All other students who rode this bus in the morning, including students from Deerwalk and Borland
Springs who rode bus 200 in the morning, will ride bus 24A home, Students who live in the
Eastlawn area will ride 249 home.
200 – Driver Steve Sandy. Jefferson Elementary students who live on Borland Springs Rd.,
Deerwalk, Dallison and Montgomery Hill Rd. will ride bus 200 for the morning run. The bus travels
to Elliot’s farm turning around at 6:30 a.m. and continues stops on Borland Springs Rd. before
turning right onto Rt. 50. This bus turns right onto Rt. 31 arriving at Deerwalk Rd. at 6:59 a.m. The
next stop is Ewing Ridge Rd. proceeding to Dallison Rd. stopping at the intersection of Ralston Hill
and Jericho Rd. at 7:10 a.m. The bus proceeds to Montgomery Hill Rd. making stops up to the
transfer point where Jefferson students transfer to bus 249 at 7:20 a.m. In the afternoon,
Jefferson Elementary students who live on Dallison, Jericho Rd., Montgomery Hill Rd., and the
section of old Route 50 near Dallison will ride bus 215 home. Students from Borland Springs and
Deerwalk will ride bus 24A home.
212 -- Driver Cathy Frederick. Jefferson students who live on Rising Sun, Loomis Ridge, and
Dutch Ridge from Route 50 to Rt. 47, and Mound St., to the intersection of Andrew and Bird St.
will ride this bus. The bus route begins at the intersection of Rising Sun and Montgomery Hill at
6:47 a.m. proceeding across Loomis Ridge, across Rt. 50, and making stops on Dutch Ridge
beginning at 7:09 a.m. then travels to Mill Run Rd at 7:15 a.m. After reaching Rt. 47, the bus
stops at Mound St. at 7:21 a.m. and continues to make stops along Rt. 47 before turning onto Lulu
St. The bus makes stops at the intersection of Lulu and Bird St. at 7:30 a.m. The last stop is at
the intersection of Andrew and Bird St. at 7:31. The bus proceeds to Jefferson arriving at 7:35
a.m. In the afternoon, the students who rode this bus to school will ride the same bus home.

Students have received an email in their Wood County Schools student email account containing a personalized link to access their GSA score reports. Parents and guardians are encouraged to work with their child to retrieve the email and review the results together.
The score report provides detailed information about your child's performance and can help identify academic strengths as well as areas for continued growth.
If your child cannot locate the email or is experiencing difficulty accessing their score report, please contact your child's school for assistance.
