2 Volunteers Still Needed

As this is an election year for LSIC parent representatives, we want to provide other parents the opportunity to become involved and help shape the future of our school.

We are currently seeking 2 parent volunteers to serve on our Local School Improvement Council (LSIC). Members serve a two-year term.

LSIC members work together to: 📚 Support student achievement
🤝 Provide input on school improvement efforts
🏫 Strengthen partnerships between our school and community

Dismissal Reminders

***Reminder grades k-3 have to be picked up by an adult or accompanied by a 4th and 5th grader
2:40 k-3walkers will dismiss and meet you at the fire hydrant, you will sign them out here
2:43- 4-5 walkers will dismiss from the building
2:45 car line starts

Henderson Ave., bus loop, and parking is reserved for busses at the end of the day. This helps ensure student safety.
If you park and walk over to the school your child is considered a walker. If you go through the car line your child is a car rider.
Please do not come to the gym doors and get your child. Wait at the fire hydrant and a teacher will get your kiddo. This helps keep every child safe and keeps the car line more consistent.

Staff Appreciation Lunch Before Open House

Our staff was treated to a phenomenal lunch before Open House on Monday, thanks to the generosity of several community partners and supporters.

Texas Roadhouse of Marietta provided delicious rolls, salad, and baked potatoes, with Arista serving up the potatoes for our staff. Mountain State BQ, owned by Keith Murphy, supplied the pulled pork, which was still warm when it arrived. We are especially grateful to Williamstown Bank, one of our valued business partners, for sponsoring the pulled pork lunch.

To top off the meal, Misti Sims of Little Black Dress Events, another outstanding business partner, created a beautiful dessert bar that was enjoyed by all.

More than just a wonderful meal, this gathering provided an opportunity for staff members to reconnect, share conversation, and enjoy time together as we begin another exciting school year. We are incredibly thankful for the support of our community partners who help make events like this possible.

Class lists will be posted on Friday, August 7 at 3:00. They will be placed on the front entrance doors. Please do not post the lists on social media, as this could violate student privacy. If you choose to take a picture, please share in private messages. We understand that at times children may not be placed in their or your class of choice. When we build class lists many factors are taken into consideration (ex. aide placement, behavior concerns, academic ability, special education services and numbers, parent support, social/emotional needs). We work collaboratively with the teachers to create the best classes for all students. Adjustments are made throughout the summer as new students enroll. Our staff is amazing! We are confident that regardless of class assignments, your child will have a great year of learning!

Wood County Schools will resume normal operations for all summer programs on Wednesday, July 8.

Wood County Schools will continue to closely monitor conditions related to the Peoples Cartage Warehouse fire and any potential impact on our school campuses. The safety and well-being of our students and staff remains our highest priority, and we will continue working with local and state agencies to evaluate conditions and provide updates if necessary.

We appreciate the patience, understanding, and support of our families throughout this situation and look forward to welcoming students back to our summer programs on Wednesday.

As part of the community outreach and response to the fire, food bags are being distributed to access points across the county. I have just been notified that food will be available at Williamstown Elementary between 5:00-7:00 this evening. You may pick-up items in the bus loop on Henderson Avenue. Look for Mrs. Pam and Mrs. Dana. You do not need to have a child attending Williamstown Elementary. This is open to anyone who may be in need. Bags have sandwiches, juice, etc. There will be 100 bags available.
