On February 7, the Parkersburg High School Science Bowl Team left Morgantown as one of the best in the state. They competed in the West Virginia Regional Science Bowl Competition hosted by the National Department of Energy and finished in 2nd place. Members received a nice prize package, including a donation to the school's science department. Participating members were Ember Galloway, Smit Babariya, Aaron Huynh, and Liya Tewodros. Congratulations on a well-earned recognition.

The safety of our students, families, and staff is our highest priority, and this decision was made after careful consideration of travel conditions across the district. Due to continued ice and snow on roadways - particularly in the southern part of Wood County - Wood County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay today, Wednesday, February 4, 2026. We appreciate families' attention to student safety, especially for those walking to school, as many sidewalks remain snow- and ice-covered.
