The Horseshoe will be closed during morning drop-off as we hold our 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony, beginning at 7:30 AM near the flagpole in front of the senior doors.
🚗 Student Drop-Off Info: Please drop students off at the end of the Horseshoe or in the back of the school during this time. The Horseshoe is expected to reopen by 8:00 AM.
🎶 You are warmly invited to join us for a meaningful ceremony featuring the PHS A Cappella Choir and brief speeches as we honor and remember together.

Hello Parkersburg High School families!
Last week or sometime this week your student will be bringing home Parent Access Codes for Schoology from their advisory teacher. Students will have a paper with activation directions and the code to give to you. If you have not already activated your parent account, we strongly encourage you to do so. Schoology allows you to communicate with your student's teachers, as well as view grades and assignments for your student. If you have questions, feel free to reach out to your student's advisory teacher.

Seniors who do not have their up to date immunization records on file with Nurse Tori will be excluded starting Tuesday, September 2nd until she receives them.
Picture Day is Thursday. Pictures will be taken during math class. If a student does not have a math class, they will have their picture taken during Advisory.
School pictures are this Thursday and will be taken during math class. If you do not have a math class on campus, you will be sent during Advisory. Staff pictures will start at 7:30. Packets will be distributed during advisory and we will share the updated links Monday.

If you haven’t picked up your schedule yet, Mr. Sprague will be in the cafeteria starting at 7:00 AM tomorrow to assist you.
Also, please note a change in our morning routine: students will remain in the cafeteria until the 7:45 bell rings.
Students are not permitted to drive to Caperton or Tech until they have completed their parking forms.
Good evening parents and students! The staff at PHS is eagerly awaiting your arrival for the 2025-2026 school year tomorrow, Wednesday, August 20. To help ensure a distraction free learning environment, Wood County Schools has implemented a new personal electronics policy in order to comply with House Bill 2003. Students will be allowed to use their cellphones, ear buds, and smart watches during their assigned lunch period only. During academic class periods, students are required to have their cellphones, earbuds, and smart watches either in their lockers or secured in their backpacks. If a student is found using their cellphones, earbuds, or smartwatches during class, teachers will instruct the student to report to the office. If this is the student's first offense, their device will be locked in the office and may be picked up by the student after school. On the second and subsequent offenses, a parent/ guardian will need to pick up the student's device. We are confident that this policy will help increase learning throughout our campus and we look forward to working with you this school year

Please remember that you have a summer reading assignment that will be due either the first day of school or within the first few weeks of the start of the school year. Students of Van Devender who bought a yearbook for the 2024–2025 school year can now pick it up at the school they’ll be attending in August: Hamilton Middle, Jackson Middle, or Parkersburg High.
WVU Parkersburg will be hosting an Early College Catch-Up Day on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, in the student lounge from 2pm to 5pm. This event is for current Dual Credit students who are not yet registered for their Fall 2025 dual credit courses.
If a student is not able to make Catch-Up Day, please have them contact the EC Team at earlycollege@wvup.edu.
Parkersburg High School Freshman Orientation
Parkersburg High School will hold Freshman Orientation on Tuesday, August 12th. Students should arrive according to the following schedule based on their middle school:
Jackson Middle School (JMS): 5:30 PM
Hamilton Middle School (HMS): 6:15 PM
VanDevender Middle School (VMS): 7:00 PM
We encourage parents/guardians to attend with their students to learn about expectations, tour the building, and receive schedules.
Reminder: Summer school will begin Monday. We will meet in the auditorium at 8 am .No backpacks with the exception of PE.
Summer School starts on June 16th. We will meet for an opening meeting in the auditorium promptly at 8am. Summer School will be June 16-July 25, 2025; 8:00am-11:30am. To register, please obtain a form from the Student Service Center at PHS.
