Mr. Sprague will be in the cafeteria from 4-7 for schedule pickup and can take note of any schedule issues.

Attention students enrolled in Honors, Dual Credit, or Advanced Placement English classes for the 2025-2026 school year. Please remember that you have a summer reading assignment that will be due either the first day of school or within the first few weeks of the start of the school year. Students of Van Devender who bought a yearbook for the 2024–2025 school year can now pick it up at the school they’ll be attending in August: Hamilton Middle, Jackson Middle, or Parkersburg High.

WVU Parkersburg will be hosting an Early College Catch-Up Day on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, in the student lounge from 2pm to 5pm. This event is for current Dual Credit students who are not yet registered for their Fall 2025 dual credit courses.

Parkersburg High School Freshman Orientation
Parkersburg High School will hold Freshman Orientation on Tuesday, August 12th. Students should arrive according to the following schedule based on their middle school:
Jackson Middle School (JMS): 5:30 PM
Hamilton Middle School (HMS): 6:15 PM
VanDevender Middle School (VMS): 7:00 PM
We encourage parents/guardians to attend with their students to learn about expectations, tour the building, and receive schedules.

Wood County Schools Special Education Office will be destroying special education records of all former special education students with a graduation date prior to and including 2019. Files prior to 2018 have already been shredded. Seniors, remember that we are meeting in the auditorium 8:30. We will give out tickets for graduation if we have to go inside. All things are pointing towards an outside graduation ceremony. Enter either through the senior doors or through the back by the bus canopy. We will meet at 6pm for graduation with gates opening at 5:30.

Please enter by the door by the dumpster at the Jack Stephens for Grad Practice. After practice, please head home if you have drive or walk. If you ride a bus, meet in the library. You will need your cap and gowns for Tap Day. Enjoy visiting you elementary and middle schools this week!
