Good evening. This is Will Hosaflook, Superintendent of Wood County Schools. Early this morning, the replacement wire to restore PHS’ power was delivered to the school. According to our maintenance team and electrical contractors, power should be restored around midnight tonight, which would allow us to have in-person school at PHS tomorrow. However, if we encounter power problems throughout the night, I will let all PHS students and staff know by 6:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. Please prepare to attend school in-person tomorrow, February 16, 2022. Thank you and have a wonderful evening.

Good evening. This is Will Hosaflook, Superintendent of Wood County Schools. This is a reminder that PHS will utilize remote learning on Tuesday, February 15, 2022. For an update, the electric cable for repair is coming from Philadelphia. As soon as we receive it, our maintenance team and electrical contractors have estimated a time of twenty-four hours to replace the existing line and reconnect power to PHS. We will work around the clock to complete the job. Once again, I apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we resolve this issue. Thank you and have a wonderful evening.

PHS staff will teach remotely the next 2 days following the bell schedule due to the power issue. Students are expected to log on during their class time and attendance will be taken. Teachers if you do not have Wi-Fi at your home please make alternative arrangements. No one should be in the building working because of the power issue. We are sorry for the inconvenience and we will keep you posted with updates when we can.

Good afternoon. This message is to inform all PHS families that we have finally located the power issue at the school. During the 2006 renovation, a new power line was installed from the Field House to the main building. This Saturday morning, we located a nick in the line that has been infiltrated by water and will need to be replaced. As of now, the only power we have on PHS’ campus is in the field house, which will require us to utilize our remote learning platform on Schoology and Microsoft teams for at least the next two days. I sincerely apologize for this inconvenience. Within the next few hours, Mr. Demoss will inform employees and students with the remote plan moving forward for Monday and Tuesday. Thank you for your patience as we address this issue.
