Attentions Seniors and Senior parents: Senior yard signs were a one time thing last year with Covid. The school paid over $5000 with no sponsors for the signs as a gift to them. If you want to purchase one you can contact Colleen Upton, cupton@inter-state.com, to order your own! Thank you!

Prom tickets will be on sale on Friday from 8 AM to 11:30 AM and 1230 to 330 even though no students attend.

Junior, Senior prom this year will be on Saturday May 1st at 7pm. Prom tickets are on sale in the admin office starting Thursday 4/15. Tickets will only be sold from 745-10am, during all lunches and after school until 330. Tickets are $30 dollars per person. If you are wanting a non-student to attend, guest applications are in also available. All guest applications are due by Friday, April 23rd . The last day to purchase a ticket will be on Friday, April 30th, at the end of 3rd lunch at 12:50. All Juniors and Seniors can purchase their prom tickets at the previously mentioned times. If your date is a sophomore, then they must accompany you when you purchase your tickets unless your date is a virtual/remote student. In that case, we must have a note from their parent when you come to buy their ticket that they will be attending. Those students must also be eligible to attend. Your outside guest form must be approved before you can buy your tickets as well. When you come to purchase your prom ticket, it may be possible that you are on prom probation and you will not be able to purchase a ticket. If that is they case, you will have a conversation with Mrs. Ray on what the issue is. A Principal has the right to approve or disapprove you going to the prom based upon attendance, or behavior, or any other school related issue. There are no exceptions to this rule. Going to prom is a privilege and not a right, and if it important to you and to your student to go to prom then they should be following school guidelines faithfully. It’s important to keep your ticket and have a student ID since both will be required to enter Prom. You will be required to wear a mask of the duration of prom. We will only be taking temperatures and asking questions for Covid related entry; nothing else will be required like a proof of test or vaccine. We will also be selling VIP parking passes for the front horseshoe which also get you to the front of the line for and additional $20. More information about Prom will be coming as we get closer. If you have any questions, please give us a call at 304-420-9595.

The Journal is now available online at phsjournal.com ! Beth Koreski, journalism advisor, says this about the new format: "In addition to reducing our impact on the environment, this online format allows us to publish more timely articles and share them more broadly with parents, alumni and community members. In addition to our usual news, feature and opinion articles, we also have sports scores and schedules, a link to WPHS, COVID tips, a Spotify playlist and even a countdown clock for seniors." Check it out!

Juniors-tomorrow morning is the SAT make sure you get a good nights rest and report to your assigned testing room on time.
over 4 years ago, Mrs. Ohneck
Attention all Juniors and any Senior taking the test: you will be taking the state standardized test tomorrow, the SAT, Tuesday April 13th. This includes ALL students even those on virtual and remote currently. • Students need to arrive by 8:00 to their testing area. • Rosters are located on the walls on the first floor. • It is the same room as you preregistered in on last Thursday. • Snacks will be provided. You may bring a bottle of water. Lunch will be served in the cafeteria immediately following testing. • Students should get plenty of rest the night before. • The SAT is an important test because it measures your academic ability in the four core subjects. • It also provides scholarship opportunity if scores meet the certain benchmarks (Like the Promise Scholarship). • Phones will be turned off and turned over to the teacher before testing occurs. All smart devices including watches must be turned off. You do not have to bring in your device. • Please refrain from picking up your student from 8-1:30; students can not leave the testing area once they start because it disrupts the other test takers. • All non-testers will not be allowed in the north wing after 8:10 • Test takers will resume normal schedule once testing is over and they have eaten.
